The DePauw University School of Music invites applications for a tenure-track position in the teaching of undergraduate music history beginning August 2015. Preference will be given to applicants with prior years of experience in the teaching of western music history at the college level particularly in the eras since 1600. Consideration will be given to candidates who can expand the offerings in music history in areas that complement the work and mission of DePauw University and its School of Music, such as (but not limited to) 21st century musician skills, ethnomusicology, film music, contemporary music, music business, or musical theatre. Completed Ph.D. in music history/musicology and evidence of scholarly activity preferred. Commitment to teaching and preparing musicians for careers in the 21st century are essential. Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
